 Romans Budniks Wesley Camp & Retreat Center is located in the SW of Latvia near Liepaja town and it takes only 20 min to drive from church in Liepaja. Also it is not far from other congregations of the region. For example, it is possible to reach Matras church in 20 min, Tasi in 30 min and Kuldiga in 1 hour. This location allows as organizing voluntary working days, which is very important. Also the Wesley camp is located near the sea only 15 min to walk. Camp is only 1 hour drive from Lithuania border, which means that also for Lithuanians is not far to came. And we had 3 work groups last year from Lithuania and I want to say them thanks for help, they were well organized. And finally, the Wesley Camp is only in 3 hours drive from Riga international airport that means we are close enough for the ret of the world. What do we have in the Wesley Camp? The Wesley Camp has 24 acres of land. From this land 20 Acres is agriculture land, 2 acres of garden with about 100 apple and pear- trees, about 1 acre of buildings. Buildings are: one big stone house, were before was stable (it was built before the second world war, one living house, one wooden barn and different storage buildings). What is the purpose of Wesley Camp?01Evangelization: Spreading of the Good News of Jesus Christ. This means- through the camps and different activities tell people about Jesus. This is not only for people who will come from the region, but also we think about local people. 02Give strength to Christians: Through the Churches pass many people. They find God and after leave the Church. Main reason why they leave is luck of fellowship and luck of information and education. United Methodists long time ago understood that good Christian fellowship and education is effective also outside the Church building. And well maintained places outside the city or town, I think, are perfect places. 03Camping:This place is like a camp place. And camping is very meaningful, because there can bee different camps. Children and youth camp, family camps, church camps, working camps. Camping is very effective in evangelization of non Christians and strengthening of fellowship of Christian. Camping can also include retreat work, help to others is the best way to show how we love Christ. There is a lot of different discipleship activities, we can do- camps for orphans, lonely mothers, handicapped people. We are organizing camps not only for Latvians, but Lithuanians, Belarussians, Europeans, Americans and others. Wesley Camp & Retreat Center is planned for 100 people in summer time and 50 people in winter time. Presently we have concentrated to make ready main stone structure called the Alabama building. This is a multi- function house with kitchen, showers and restrooms, dining room, worship house and bedrooms. This is very effective because in Latvia it is cold winters and heating is pretty expensive. By working with campers in one multi- purpose building, we are taking care of the resources God has given us. Everyone can be apart of the adventure called Wesley Camp! Come and join! Come and see!
